I got invited to play in a quiz night for the latest Star Wars movie, Rogue One. This event was hosted by Globe Telecom, and was also part of their current campaign, #CreateCourage. This was held at Backyard Kitchen + Brew, BGC, last December 12.
The campaign video is a heart-touching story of a young girl who wears a Storm Trooper helmet every day and everywhere, and her supportive older brother. In the end of the video, the girl entered the room and saw her classmates all wearing a Storm Trooper helmets, and later revealed that she was suffering from an illness. The campaign encourages its consumers to build up and to show courage in their everyday life.
Going back to the quiz part, there were ten teams, which are composed of four to five members each. I was put in the same team with Renz and Josh, and two more geeks whom I just met there, Xtian and Dan. We decided to call ourselves “Team Wookies”, just because another team named themselves “Team Ewoks”. Yup! So creative! Haha!
Team Wookies
The questions, of course, were all about the movie, Rogue One. They asked about the actors, the director, some facts about the story, etc. I did give some correct answers, such as “Felicity Jones” and “Gareth Edwards”, but unfortunately, we couldn’t advance to the next round. We only played one round and a tie-breaker. If only we had written that dash on K-2SO’s name, then we probably reached and got eliminated at round two instead. Hehe! Strict rules!
Should have put a dash on that answer
The game wasn’t the only thing I enjoyed there. The meal was great. They keep serving us food, and I don’t even know what they’re called. All I know is there was some pasta and meatballs, salad, and some chicken and pork. But what they served was more than satisfying.
The photo area was enjoyable. There were two Storm Trooper helmets there for people to use. Everyone from the Comics Club Philippines had a great time and great laughs taking selfies and group shots. Of course, I didn’t let the chance go to waste as I put that Storm trooper helmet and strike a pose.
Lookin' good, trooper!

The only thing that annoyed me just a little bit was the Star Wars theme that was played on loop. I get that it was a Star Wars event, but playing the same music again and again? Seriously? Any other song would be good as well.
Shout out to Ryan Sulit for inviting us to this event, and to my fellow geeks at Comics Club Philippines for a great night and bonding. Live long and prosper… just kidding! May the force be with all of you.
