Time to Retire, Pacquiao? What Happened to the Filipino Pride?

I would like to share my opinion on Manny Pacquiao's fight against Jeff Horn, on Pacman's career, and on people's reaction to it.

First, maybe Pacquiao was robbed. People were surprised and stats don't lie. Maybe he really should have won the match, but honestly, I'm having doubts on whether he could still win his fights at this point in his boxing career. He has too much on his plate now. He's on PBA, he's part of the Philippine Senate, he has an acting career, etc. And the country needs a senator who is dedicated on being a senator. I'm one of those people who doesn't fully trust him that he'll be able to fulfill his job as a senator. I'm doubting his capabilities although there are times that agree with him in some cases. But since he's already on the senate, I hope he retires on his boxing, basketball, and showbiz careers and focuses on being a politician. Or he could just give up his spot in the senate and focuses on his other career, but hopefully, whoever will replace him deserves the spot and will serve the country and its people properly and honestly.

Since he has a lot on his plate, he wouldn't be able to focus on his training. And he probably has limited time to train which could still be in conflict with his senatorial duties, unlike most of his challengers, young and probably constantly training. Plus his health might be an issue, I mean he isn't getting any younger.

I still support him though. Yes, I wish he retires and focus on his duties but if he will have a boxing fight, I will support and will want him to win. Why? Because he still has the Filipino Flag on his back. He still represents the country. Sure, maybe he's just fighting for money, or for some personal interest, but he's also fighting as a Filipino. He has been representing the country in his fights all these years, this is why it's sad and disappointing that some fellow Filipinos rejoiced because he didn't win. Some Filipinos didn't want him to win. He represents the Philippines every time he steps inside the ring, and Filipinos didn't want their country to win. They stopped supporting the country, because they have different political views with their fighter. Sure, his fights aren't as hyped or as grand unlike how they were years ago, and to be honest, I am not as interested to his fights as I used to be, but I want someone who waves the flag of my country to come out victorious.

Well, I think he should have won. Stats don't lie. And I hope Pacquiao retires and focus on his duties as a senator. That's my take on this issue.
