Face Swap

It was four in the afternoon. I was chilling in my room. Playing with my cellphone, just to kill the time. Alone. A usual thing that I do.

I figured I should take some snaps, so I opened Snapchat, and switched to front camera. I pressed my face on the screen so I could activate the animated filters. The filters appeared so I scrolled to see what were available that time. I saw some of the filters that I like; the beagle one, the one that makes your face shrink, the puking rainbow, and the angel/devil filter.

I chose to play with the beagle filter first. I didn’t take a snap, but I just had fun with that filter. Next, I chose the angel/devil filter, the one that lets you switch from an angel to a devil or a devil to an angel, and just took a snap of myself as a devil, with a sinister grin that matches the filter perfectly.

After my snap was added to my story, I went back to the animated filters again. I then noticed that there was a face swap filter. It is the one that lets you switch faces with another person.

Of course, I knew this wouldn’t work because I wasn’t with anyone, but I thought I might see how it works.

When I scrolled to the face swap filter, nothing happened at first because it was just my face on the screen. But after a couple of seconds, the strangest and scariest thing happened. My face suddenly changed. Eyes were very dark almost like I was staring at hollow holes. Skin was very pale like blood doesn’t flow anymore. And there was this grin. Similar to the grin I made earlier, but much more sinister than mine.

I suddenly felt the chills in my spine. I had the strongest goosebumps ever in my life. I tried to locate where and what happened to my own face but It wasn’t there. It was just my head with that terrifying face on it.

I turned around and no one was there. This was really scaring the hell out of me, so I decided to ran downstairs. No one was there. Our helpers weren’t there. They probably went out to take the dogs outside. I was still alone.

As I stood there for a second, I realized that it was darker than usual. The atmosphere was really strange. I then felt a cold sensation in my right ear, and heard a whisper, I just couldn’t understand what the words are, or if those were even words.
I didn’t wait around anymore to know what will happen next so I ran outside.

Now, the street seemed normal. There were kids playing around. People were passing by. Neighbors were doing their regular activities. Our helpers were there with our dogs. It was normal outside.

I stared at our house, and it also seemed normal, but I was still scared. I then checked on my phone and noticed that the face swap was uploaded and added to my story. But I was sure I didn’t even took the snap. I deleted it from my story right away. And decided to uninstall Snapchat. I checked my gallery if the photo was there. Thank God, it wasn’t there.

I waited for our helpers to go back inside the house so I wouldn’t be alone inside.
Everything was back to normal. The atmosphere wasn’t that strange anymore. It wasn’t as dark as it was earlier. Everything was okay.

Until I checked my phone again. Staring at the screen, my wallpaper changed. And I saw that snap again… that horrific face again…
