One
requirement for us to graduate is to complete our on-the-job training or OJT.
We have to complete a three-hundred hour internship or job and submit paperwork
based on the company that we will be working at.
Currently, some of my block mates are already having their internship and others, including myself, aren’t yet successful in finding one. Time is running, I know that, but it’s not like I’m not trying what I could to obtain an internship. I’m doing what I could do while I take care of other important stuff. This actually is a bit of a pressure for me.
Last semester break, in looking for an OJT, what I did was send lots of applications online. I didn’t try to do some walk-in applications because someone needed to be in our house and take care of the household chores, including watching over our dogs. I did received some replies but most of them are just, “We received your application” and “We’ll review your qualifications”, but no follow up response after that. I also did experience my first job interview but I guess I wasn’t good enough ‘cause I still haven’t received a reply telling me that I got accepted for the job. Well, that’s just how it is, I guess.
Honestly, I could get an internship a lot easier if I would just ask and accept my parents’ assistance. But the reason that I didn’t is for me to experience the difficulty of looking for a job on my own. But since time is now against my side, I now did ask for their help.
Well, I hope that before this week ends, I already have an internship so I won’t fall behind. And I really appreciate those people who are willing to help me with this. And I also hope to successfully finish this and for me to graduate on time.
