I Halloween Partied

Halloween season has always been one of my favorite seasons of the year. Ghost and spooky stories are told everywhere. Horror movies and documentaries are shown on TVs. People are dressing up as scary creatures or iconic characters. It’s just an enjoyable event and different countries celebrate it annually.

Ever since, I’ve always wanted to participate in a Halloween event. When I was a kid, I never really got a chance to do a trick-or-treat activity. It wasn’t a common practice in Pandacan, the place where I grew up as a kid. And when I became a teenager, all I had wanted to do for Halloween was to attend a Halloween party. It was until this year that I had experience an actual Halloween event.

Luckily for me, The Island PH had an event called, Island Halloween: Day of the Dead, which used the theme of the Mexican holiday, Dia de Muertos. Different James Reid and Nadine Lustre, as well as different DJs and musicians, performed during the event. And the best part is that there was no entrance fee, just needed to be in a costume.

One of my cosplay goals is Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, so I decided to attempt a Jack Skellington-inspired makeup all by myself. I think the result was alright... for my “skills”. I would give myself a 6/10. Haha!

So that was my costume, which wasn’t really a full costume because I didn’t have the character’s suit. Just a makeup and a mask. Well, the goal was to enter the The Island and party anyway. So... there.

I attended the event with a friend of mine, Anna Margarita, and we met a few cool people who we get to party with and kept offering us tequila shots. Who says no to tequila shots? Definitely not me.

We got in the venue around 9:30pm but it wasn't until around 12 - 1am that the place was really crowded and the people got totally hyped and danced to the music, especially since that was also the time when the alcohol started to kick in and the most awaited James Reid and Nadine Lustre joined the celebration.

It was also Nadine's birthday celebration

I also admired the attendees' costumes. Some were simple, but some really put their efforts into their costumes. There were those with amazing makeup and astonishing overall costumes, and there were those who were very witty in crafting what they wore, such as that one guy who came in as an Elmer's Glue.

Can't wait for next year's Halloween season. I had a blast this year, so I'll most probably return to party at The Island PH next year.

It was just too bad that I didn't get enough photos and videos, I was too busy partying. Hahaha!
