Yu-Gi-Oh!: I Want to Duel!

Everybody has their childhood hobby or games, and one of my childhood games is Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.

For those who didn’t know, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a manga/anime about a card games. It centers on the young Yugi Mutou, his other self called Yami Yugi, and different duel monsters which are used in a card game. This manga/anime is filled with thrilling action, humor, and exciting storyline.

I first found out about Yu-Gi-Oh! back when I was a third grade elementary student when I watched my uncle playing a Yu-Gi-Oh! game on his Gameboy. It wasn’t very popular here in the Philippines that time. But when I was at fourth grade, one of my classmates started showing and selling Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I recognized that it was the same as the one my uncle played so I decided to buy a couple of cards from him. I still remember that the very first card that I bought was the “Celtic Guardian”, though I forgot about the other card. Then a few weeks, the anime was shown on the Philippine TV. It was one of my favorite anime that time and I whenever it was on Cartoon Network or on a local channel, ABS-CBN, I just sit in front of the television and just start watching.

Since it had become a very popular show here in the Philippines, many kids wanted to buy and collect these cards, and many malls and stores were selling these, usually P1 per card. And of course, I bought, collected, and traded tons of them. And it was a lot of fun having a duel with other kids.

Right now, unfortunately, I lost most of my cards, and I’m only left with my own customized deck. I just hope that Yu-Gi-Oh! will return someday and everybody would be dueling again.

By the way, I really love dueling, so if you still have a deck and wants to have a card game, I would be so happy to have a duel with you.
