Don't Look Back

Are you alone in your room tonight?
Are you tucked, safe and alright?
Does everything seem normal as always?
That you didn’t notice the foggy haze.

You know you’re alone but that’s not what you feel,
Someone’s in the corner, someone concealed,
From the darkest area, a shadow is extending,
Reaching to your bed, but your eyes might just be deceiving.

“No, this is not real!” you keep telling yourself,
As chills run in your spine and you scream for help,
But a silent voice were the only sound released,
You heard nothing, except for a growl of a beast.

Now you are terrified, are you still alone?
Are you still in doubt that someone else is at home?
A silhouette of a man right in front of your eyes,
You are frozen thinking if it is time for your demise.

You want to run; you now know this is real,
Scared to death, an escape you must will,
It comes nearer as your mind becomes troubled.
Your soul is leaving; your soul you must hold.

You see it, a creature as dark as a shadow,
Bright red eyes; gleaming a frightening glow,
Arms are long, but claws are longer,
An eerie screech, deafening as it screams louder.

Jump off the bed; run out of the room,
Don’t look back, or it’ll be your doom.
Run down the stairs, leave this place,
Just keep on going and don’t think of its face.
