Complication City

I fly over Complication City,
And the eyes are all over, but never on me,
But there’s a sun who stares from beneath,
So I’ll gamble until our sight will meet.

Fly too close and you will burn,
Ashes to the wind and lesson learned,
But fly too far and you’ll freeze to death,
And fear of darkness you might regret.

The cry for comfort, you’ll hear like a song,
Smiling for tomorrow like nothing is wrong,
So build a wall just to watch it fall,
Then love the flames ‘cause of the sun’s call.

Spread your wings for a headfirst slide,
Be brave to dive and be tough to collide,
Close your eyes to see where you’re going,
To your safe haven that we all are hoping.

But trouble minds live in this city,
Complicate the wishes ‘cause it’s never easy,
Find the holes in the perfect sky,
You’ll know your way, but still ask why.

The story was told, but nothing is written,
The memories you breathe but can’t be forgotten,
Stop for a moment and look at the mirror,
Know what you want, what’s worth fighting for.

Challenge the sky; challenge them all,
Even if it means you will have to crawl,
Everything is scary, so don’t be afraid,
Just let your dreams be your serenade.

Let the pain guide you with your hope,
As you fly across the kaleidoscope,
Know your home when you think of me,
'Cause we are from Complication City.
